Location

Located in the heart of  the Matanuska valley yet out of the notorious valley wind tunnel, you will find your paradise off Mountain Trails drive.  Ideally situated at the base of the mountains and only a short 15 minute drive to downtown Palmer or Wasilla offering you true Alaska living with wilderness out your back door.  For those still working in Anchorage it is approximately a 1 hour commute to downtown Anchorage or approximately 50 minutes to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson with only 2 stoplights between home and the city.  Hatcher Pass Village offers the best school district in the valley, Colony, for your children.  Mat-Su Regional Hospital is less than a 20 minute drive.

Colony Middle School ranked better than 85.3% of middle schools in Alaska. It also ranked 2nd among 5 ranked middle schools in the MSB School District.

Colony High School is ranked 2nd within Alaska. Colony High School is 1 of 15 high schools in MSB School District.

University of Alaska's Mat-Su College: Matanuska-Susitna College (MSC) is an extended college of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and serves over 1,500 students.

Medical care and facilities: Mat-Su Regional Medical Center and Providence Health Care is less than 20 minutes (12 miles) from Hatcher Pass Village. Mat-Su Regional Medical Center is your community healthcare provider; a 74-bed facility with a wide range of inpatient and outpatient care, diagnostic imaging and emergency, medical and surgical services.
